ISLAMABAD: Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Muhammad Faisal has on Thursday said that Pakistan is fully capable of responding to Indian aggression, but will act only ‘at the right time and place’.
Speaking at a weekly press conference in Islamabad, Faisal said that Indian has violated the ceasefire agreement 370 times in 2018 thus far, which has resulted in 20 deaths and 71 injuries.
He added that India must not underestimate Pakistan’s capability to respond and that the country’s forces know how to safeguard the borders.
“India should not underestimate Pakistan’s ability to counter. We will provide an answer to Indian aggression at the right place and time,” Faisal said.
Speaking about Pak-Afghanistan relations, the FO spokesperson said that Pakistan has always worked for peace and development of Afghanistan and the entire region.
“Millions of Afghans were given refuge in Pakistan, while 75 doctors from the country and now being trained under the guidance of PIMS. We will continue to support the cause for peace in Afghanistan,” he added.
Faisal also said that various extremist elements have established safe havens across the Durrand Line in Afghanistan and that they constantly attack the forces from there. “To that end, Pak-forces befittingly respond to the terrorists,” the FO spokesman added.
